College is supposed to be a broadening, culturing experience for you, so it's a pretty efficient way for you to become a cultured person if you can be exposed to people of every race, from every country around the world. Another facet of multiculturalism is religion. Unless you are attending a college with a religious affiliation, you can expect that you will encounter students who practice different religions from you. And yet another diversity issue that often comes up for people at first during their college careers is sexuality. For a lot of people, college is the first time they meet openly gay people, as well as the first time they decide they can be openly gay themselves.
